and yes, we have all seen them: it is sad. I can imagine what your son saw. I would imagine it is like what a bar tender sees when he/she mixes drinks for the guy who comes in every night and stumbles out...

That being said, gambling, like so much else can just be a form of entertainment. We go to the casinos around here about 2 or 3 times a year, Hubby love the horse races so we go and watch the videos and he does his gambling, I will take maybe $40 and play the slots. On a cruise ship, same thing, I will gamble a little each night and when we head south or west we love to spend a day or so in a state with gambling. That is as far as it goes with us. For those who spend their checks and then cry,,they would find a way regardless to blow the money..
