This is actually a good point. We wonder why people don't go down the same road. Why one person can excel through a free U.S. public education, go to college and then obtain a career and job that at least pays decent income. Yet, another person doesn't seem to do that. How many situations are there were a parent is uneducated, often a high school dropout and has children? What positive influence is that parent giving the child? How many days, weeks, months and years will go by, wasted, while these kids just simply live day-to-day, not learning, not interacting with scienes, mathematics, etc.
Education and success definitely is affected by the home and parents. There are so many children (all races) out there who just aren't getting the support needed at home.
Those kids don't stand a chance and it is only a small percentage of kids like those kids that will rise up and find their own way out or they will be the kids that have someone who recognizes their situation and gives them a chance.
