I'm moving to TX this summer and am looking for a low-cost moving company. Preferably something where we load our stuff and they haul it for us (if such a thing exists). I looked into PODs and U-Box but wonder if there's something cheaper. Thanks!

I would suggest you look in the moving forum on CD as well as here.

ABF U-Pack Moving Companies | U-Pack: The Money Saving Alternative to Traditional Moving- you load a semi truck onsite up off of 30 in NW on 35th street. I think we paid 1100$ 3 years ago for 6x9x10 (which was enough space for 2bdrm apt creatively packed: couch, king size bed etc.) of space from Raleigh to here. We looked into other companies and they were the cheapest by far at the time. They also have a container system to similar to Pods but it was much more expensive. The Pack and Load option was best for us, we just loaded up a U-Haul, drove to the facility, loaded the truck, drove here and unloaded into another U-Haul. It took it about 5 days to cross the country. Safe travels!
