My husband and I are planning to relocate from St. Paul, Minnesota to the Prescott Valley Az. area and are torn between the View Point and Granville subdivisions. The View Point lots have awesome vistas backing up to an open range and mountain views. Granville, with more limited views however, has much to offer with proximity to shopping, medical, and employment (we are not of retirement age). What are your opinions?

I would check the job market thoroughly before making a decision. PV does not have a lot of jobs, and Prescott is pretty tough, too, depending on your individual situation..

Take a look at this link for lots of comparative information.

You've hit on many of the points. Financially, they are similar in price, but Granville will cost an extra $50/month for their community center. There are actually two community centers, which are very nice and worth the money if you use them. Personally I would choose Granville over Viewpoint due to its proximity to town. Viewpoint has some nice vistas, but unless you buy a house bordering open space, you will only see the vistas while driving to and from your house. The same goes for Granville. There are a sampling of homes that back to open space in both subdivisions. Oftentimes, it boils down to which subdivision happens to have the home that you like within your price range.
