It will be interesting to see when Packers get a deal done for Rodgers. He is down the ladder $ wise now so I'm thinking they need to do this. He is a better QB than all these guys getting huge deals!
More mobile, yes, but I definitely believe that Cousins is better than Alex Smith. Cousins' numbers were down a little bit this year but he really put in a very good year considering what he had to work with (losing both starting receivers, Jordan Reed being an injured mess and only playing 6 games, Chris Thompson only playing 10 games due to injury, Terrelle Pryor being a major bust, poor line play). It a small miracle that he put up the stats that he did.
My question.. Let's say Kirk winds up in Denver or Arizona.. Two teams that have many of the pieces needed and are just missing a quality QB.
He takes them, even if not to the Super Bowl, to the championship game, or to a 12-4 season.. Something around there. Wins at least one playoff game.
Washington has another around .500 season.
Who gets credit and blame in this situation?
Cousins? Probably proves that he is a top level QB.
Jay Gruden? Probably doesn't get blamed. Offensively he's missing a number of pieces. I'm not sold on the Redskins RBs or receivers. Doctson i'm cautiously optimistic about.. He's got some growing to do, but.. I actually like Ryan Grant a lot.
Broncos or Cardinals.. They look like geniuses.
Bruce Allen would be the one, I would guess, who would be on the hot seat over it. Hot seat being the wrong term. He'd be the one to look the idiot. Because I am fairly certain that he is the reason that Kirk won't be with the Redskins anymore. Sharing some of the blame with Dan Snyder, though reports are that Snyder tried to make sure Kirk knew he was wanted.

Andy Reid has held back Smith with the horrible play calling, all the dink and dunk stuff. And he has never had a good WR until this year and he made more long passes this year than he ever had before.

As a big Kirk guy, and Redskins fan, I will root for Cousins to win a Super Bowl. And the Redskins management will be to blame for sure. All the reports say their offers were insulting. There is a ton of stuff to come out one story had the Redskins sending a low ball offer. When it was rejected a promise of a better offer was made, 2 weeks later the exact offer was sent. They never once gave him the respect he deserved and he was right to want out.
I'll never get past how they were somehow the only team in history to let a top 10-12 QB in his prime walk for nothing.

Or how they let 2 damn good receivers go last year? Heck, history repeats because Brad Johnson was booted when Dandy Dapper Dan bought the team. Brad then won himself a superbowl elsewhere, in which Cousins will do the same perhaps.
Perhaps Cousins will join Shanahan.....
