I like RGIII and wish he were in a better situation. He needs to be pulled out for the remainder of the season so he can HEAL properly. I think that maniacal-looking Shanahan puts pressure on RGIII to play through his injury, which slows his recovery, and may do long-term damage.

Time for Shanahan to go. This can't go on.
So why Shanahan refused to play RGIII through the preseason when it was RGIII that wanted to play? RGIII went as far as calling this "Operation Patience". After Week 1, it was clear that Shanahan was right to sit out RGIII for the entire preseason.
If Mike Shanahan goes, who replaces him? No Redskin head coach has last five season since Norv Turner did from 1993-2000 where he was fired during the season by Dan Snyder.
That won't hurt at all. As a matter of fact, that's the missing antidote for this franchise if you ask me! This is why franchise owners should stay away from the cameras and the sidelines and stay out of the locker rooms trying to be buddy-buddy with the players. I do want the Shannys and Haslett gone, but the biggest problem lies squarely with Danny Boy himself. I'm still kind of perplexed by that news piece talking about Shanahan's and Snyder's intentions earlier this year around the playoffs season.......Why us?

People either are too young, short sighted or just plain dumb to see that Snyder is the catalyst. It seems some just get giddy and all excited anticipating who the next coach will be. Who gives a chit, all have poor performances in this franchise and will continue to fail until this man is hurt financially worse than the last time when he and his henchman Vinny the doof sacked Zorn and was forced to hire a GM because the fans had enough. Today was the straw that broke the fan's back. Snyder better be careful in what he does the next couple of weeks.

Did Shanahan make the RG3 trade? 3 #1's and a #2?
You know the Rams are licking their chops at the possibilities of getting the #1 pick this year.

I don't care what Shanahan publically declared. I believe the pressure was there implicitly, and being the type of person and competitor that RGIII is, he wanted to make the effort in good faith. Shanahan's job is the one on the line this season. Frankly, he had that look of desperation while pacing the sideline as his team imploded. You don't take an extraordinary talent like RGIII, and treat him like a throwaway guy. The key point being that the success of the team should not rely entirely on RGIII. This is a team game, and the team must be good and well-coached. Shanahan didn't have the talent to protect his QB, so he should not have put RGIII out there, jeopardizing RGIII's health long term, just to try to save his arse. Very short-sighted Shanahan is. His coaching is sub-par. This team was not well-coached. Either devise a better system so your team is exceptional AS A TEAM and wins, or get the hell out of there.
It's obvious that Shanahan is not the guy. Who is? Who knows? You're not suggesting that the team keep Shanahan because you don't know who else to pick are you? Time to move on. This is not working. Rest up RGIII, find someone better, and begin again with a new commitment, new schemes, better conditioning, and so forth. I think RGIII should have a say in who they pick next. He's highly intelligent and a winner. In fact, RGIII might be better at picking the next coach than Snyder.
