The NFL is going to have to make a decision soon on the Browns game... cancelled, postponed, or moved. WNY is going to get hammered with snow the next 3-4 days, I don't see how they can play it Sunday at Highmark.
I heard a comment that the resources that would be needed to get people to and from the stadium would be better allocated to keeping other more important routes and services attended to. Doesn't seem dumb at all.
Three feet of snow had already fallen by Friday morning in Orchard Park, home of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
“I want to be very clear: This is not your normal snowfall in the city of Buffalo or in the region,” Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said Friday as 4 to 5 feet of snow was forecast. “This is a snowstorm with potentially deadly consequences if people do not do the right thing.”

I think as far as logistics the NFL made the right decision so the region can focus on using the resources to help them deal with the snow rather than for the game. Any word on whether the Bills will stay in Detroit after Sunday with the situation back home and their game being just three days after?

I heard (think NFL Network) that they are planning on returning to Buffalo but they aren't scheduled to leave until tomorrow. Currently it looks like most every flight out of Buffalo has been cancelled.
“We want to head out tomorrow as close to the normal time as possible however again seeing what’s happening around us right now,” McDermott said. “I just want to make sure all the staff and players are safe and dug out before we want to try and get out of here, so everyone’s mind is in the right spot, knowing that their families are all safe.”
