If packers win the next two a wild card spot really is a possibility. If he can play and the circumstances are there he'll be out there. As painful as it is this means we have to root for the vikes for their games against car/atl since winning the nfc north is out of reach.
The shoddy defense won't get us very far if they make the playoffs but who knows.
Aaron practiced today so he comes off IR according to various sources. He is officially designated as a player to return off IR but as someone said, many hurdles to cross yet. His shoulder won't be scanned until after the Browns game. We'll see.
Playoffs aren't out of the question, however, they will be if they don't win the next 2 games. Buckle up, could be quite the ride these last 5 games.
Last year went right down to the wire, with many convinced the Packers wouldn't be in the playoffs but they were!

There is no longer a "designated player to return from IR"
Any player on IR can return to the roster after 8 weeks out up to a maximum of 2 players. If a player begins practicing and doesn't make it to the active roster within 3 weeks that uses up one of the 2 slots though.
From the Press Gazette: Biggest thing today is Packers officially used final return designation from IR on Rodgers.
They already brought one player back, so they have one more spot. The reporter said designated because Aaron is their 2nd. I know they don't have to state ahead of time like they did when it was 1 player not 2.
I hope AR just sits out the remainder of the season. The PACK will likely miss the playoffs anyway, but if by some miracle they get in, how far would they realistically go? Best to keep him out to avoid a possible career ending injury in a lost season. They still have to play Minnesota again, we can't risk having him "Barred" again.
As much as I like watching him play, it is a concern. I know he wants to play but is it worth it? He hasn't had a recent scan so maybe it won't show enough healing to play, that would probably be good for him.
A couple of comments about today.
1. Agree that this was as an ugly win as you can get---some great coaches have said an ugly win is better than a beautiful loss.
2. Most of us can agree now that Hundley just doesn't have a pocket prescense. He is only effective if the play totally breaks down.
3. the defense is awful.
4. despite all this they haven't quit---Mike has them playing hard to the end. He has held the team together in this very ugly period.
Despite the occasional wins here, and even if AR returns and they sneak into the playoffs, this team needs to changed. Maybe Mike survives but others will not.
I agree changes need to be made.
With that said if Rodgers was healthy all season they are a 2-3 loss team right now.
The running game is picking up which has rarely been available for AR. This will help the d as well not being on the field as much.
If they win against the browns... And Rodgers is cleared he'll be playing for sure. He's not getting any younger and neither is his favorite target Jordy. Jordy looks lost out there without AR.
