One thing nice is them melted glaciers did leave some good drinking water. I envy you. You are getting water that has never been touched by human exposure.
I've never heard of tap water being formally intended for drinking. I think it would be impossible to guarantee from the city's position that what comes out of your tap should be drunk. Is the reason people drink from the tap simply because other people do it and no more thought is left to it? That seems like a rediculous approach to dealing with a fundamental regarding our health
I grew up drinking from the tap and never gave it a second thought.
I still drink from the kitchen tap.

I should have mentioned this earlier.
Bottled water did not become popular in the US until about 20-30 years ago. Before than it was a "High Society Item" with snob appeal.

Hmm, I wonder why it would be filtered, treated with chlorine, and have fluoride added to fight tooth decay if not meant for drinking?

Yes and the worst stuff you can be drinking in your water is SODIUM FLOURIDE.. (A nuclear waste product)
