Life itself is an empty, cold thing. But, I don't blame you for wanting to believe otherwise. Like I said, I never had the filter or whatever that allowed for that. I really should get less upset at people for wanting to make their time on this earth seem a bit less hollow and despondent. It's at least as valid a coping device as substance abuse, after all.

Nah. I mean, it can be I guess. But I'm only reacting emotionally to my reality. That's the mind functioning as intended. I'd be more concerned about my mental integrity if I were happy. Also, that's actually a pretty serious diagnosis than can ********* out of work in certain circles, so, yeah.

Your "reality" appears to be the root cause of your unhappiness. A therapist can help you see how some of your "reality" is actually false.
