All of you sheep who have crawled out from under your rocks to defend FB, go crawl back - and take FB with you. You're all sad, pathetic lemmings who all follow the latest "trends" only because "everyone else is doing it". You all represent a lot of what's wrong with this country. You can't think for yourselves.

I hate the site with a passion.

Hard to call Facebook a trend since it's been around for over 13 years. Many people actually use it for things like work not to share with the world that they have done laundry and made blueberry pie for lunch.

OK, great. But I've found it very useful in my life. And there's no one forcing you to use it.

However, as I've been taking care of my father with dementia, it has been vital for me for networking to find resources and to keep myself from feeling isolated by the fact that most of my time is spent in the presence of an 86 year old man who is terribly frustrated by his failing brain and the fact that he no longer has any power over his life. But I'd rather him stay with me than go into a home against his will. Facebook helps with this because I can keep in contact with my extended network of friends all over the country and I've made new friends and mentors through that network.

So yeah, if that makes me a "sad, pathetic lemming," I'm good with that.

What kind of rodent does posting all the time on C-D make you?

Just one more excellent reason to get rid of or never open a Fakebook account. Getting this crap in anonymous forwarded e-mails is bad enough.

While you may not be able to believe someone's story on Facebook, I did believe my own sister's story. She was in line at Target and the whole store shut down with police storming. They announced they were looking for a girl aged two with long blonde hair. They came to my sisters aisle as she was waiting to checkout and the mom yelled out, "my baby" to a little boy in jeans and short hair. They took the kid and it was told that they had found her clothes in the bathroom as well as her cut off hair and the tags of the new clothes she was changed into. They were apprehended and happy ending. So, stuff does happen.

This....there are countless people who advertise legit businesses on FB. We have conducted some type of business (mostly house upgrades) through FB. My wife also found our fur baby on FB 2 years ago.
