Today I was at the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Wappingers Falls, New York. I dropped my driver's license on the ground. Someone mentioned it to me.
I lent my office refrigerator to my father-in-law and his wife while they awaited finding one a permanent one that could fit through an apartment building door.
I pulled into a donut shop and I saw a young couple sitting on the curb outside the shop. They looked cold and hungry and I wasn't sure what their situation was but I asked how they were doing and offered to get them something to eat.
They weren't panhandlers or anyone begging for money, they just seemed too embarrassed to ask for help so I offered. I bought them something to eat and gave them some money but apoligized that I didn't have more to give.
Sometimes we have to be grateful for what we have because some people have it worse than others and we tend to dwell too much on our own problems.
That was very kind of you....... Often when I am with my friend in the city in her car I see people with signs saying HOMELESS and its sad...... It must be hard to not have a place to live....... Especially when its cold as it is now!!!
There was a cold snap last weekend, and while in Home Depot there was a very polite but raggedly dressed man asking if anyone would buy his family some propane. He stated that he recently lost his job and his family was currently living in "tent city", a small local self organized homeless commune. He wanted 1 or 2 small propane tanks. I went ahead a bought him a case. He started to cry as we were checking out and stated that I had just provided heat to the entirety of tent city until the end of the cold snap.
My 21 year old daughter told me this morning that she thinks she does not want to have kids. She said she wants to focus on her career path (nurse anesthetist). I told her that whatever she chooses is fine with me. I won't convince her to have children because I want her to be happy and I think a child deserves to be born to parents who want them. I will support her decision. She may or may not change her mind, but I did not insert my opinion or feelings into the conversation. It was hard. LOL.
It was an act of kindness because I really, really, really would like to be a grammy some day.
The other day, I was at the grocery store and had a coupon for $10 off $50 purchase. I was not going to use it so I gave it to another shopper. She seemed happy about it.
A lot of these posts make me sad regarding the homeless. It is so cold out. I feel so bad for people in these situations. I almost always give money to panhandlers (when I have cash) and I don't care what they use it for.
Hahahahahah...the comedy routine I did today!
Outside an Osteopathic surgery clinic full of wheel chairs!
A lady with a cane couldn't get into her car...wow, some SUV parked inches away from her doors...
I squeezed in her back door to let her in the passenger side....nope...she couldn't get from the passenger
side to the driver's side...ok..too crippled..so now I have to get from the backseat to the front in a small sedan, yes people still drive those little things...she gave me her keys and I backed the car out...
I said I "did my Christian good thing today, now, let's dent his car!" ...there wasn't anyone in that clinic under 70...except me!
At work I have a coworker who was down so I scribbled on a a paper " Your special so celebrate ". She said it made her cry cause she needed that mesage and she has it on her desk. At work a coworker treated me to lunch, at work that has been the nicest thing that I hhave felt for awhile.
