What companies do you use to do your lawn fertilizing and bug control? We were using TruGreen and they are terrible. Missed schedules, unresponsive CS etc.
I have a good mowing guy just looking for reliable fertilizing, weed and bug control company.

Thanx

It looks like we will be using Mr Bugs in North Port. I called them for a termite inspection and they did it,free, the very next day. I have asked around the community and everyone I talked with were happy with them for bug control.
I am anxious to hear other ideas.

We use Truly Nolan for the lawn and Pest Eliminators for inside. Happy with both.

I posted this on the wrong thread earlier, hopefully, I got it right this time. :-)

I spread weed and feed from Scotts on my lawn 3-4 times a year. It works great, killed tons of nuisance weeds, and with some regular watering has turned my lawn into one of the greenest lawns on my street.
For insect control. I mix a little malathyon with Neem oil (both bought at Home Depot) with water, and spray my trees and shrubs - it has brought back both of my citrus trees, that were near death from the white flies and that citrus disease. I also use Scotts lawn insect killer which rid a problem of cinch bugs that were present when we originally bought the house. I used to do that 2x a year, but now just once in the spring.

For Ants - I mix borax (bought at any hardware store) with corn syrup. I mix a little less than one tablespoon to one cup of corn syrup. Then I put a teaspoon full in a water bottle, and I set several water bottles around the house with stones on them so they don't move and blow away. The ants eat the corn syrup, and distribute it to all the ants they pass along the way back to the nest, and feed it to the colony and queen. It kills the whole colony. The water bottle protects the mixture from the rain, and weather, and allows the ants to get inside. I usually tip the bottle down so it makes it easy for them to enter. I also just walk around the yard, and where I see some ant hills, I just drizzle a little line of the stuff around the hill - in a day or so, you will see real results. Note: some plants and palm trees are a great food source for ants, so place a bottle near them too.

Great post Big House. I will have to remember your post or call you over when I am ready to roll up my sleeves and whip the yard into shape. The front is Floratam. The back is mostly burned out something. Thanks for the yard agriculture knowledge transfer!

Don't forget the Epsom salt for palms. Something I just learned.
