Our 3.5 year old Samsung dryer recently stopped heating The repair place Samsung directed me to had zero ratings on Yelp or any other site, no business webpage, and no voicemail. Not what I'm letting in my house. So I called several repair companies with high ratings on yelp. Mr Appliance of Cary was the first to call back, and they came out the next day.

Although there was an initial misdiagnosis of the problem, when it was discovered, the owner stood by his services and did way more than most businesses would do to make things right. I understand and accept that mistakes happen, but I expect people to admit it and fix it. This company did a great job under difficult circumstances. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

Youtube for appliance repair help. I just repaired my dryer for $26.10. It had stopped heating and needed a new heating element. 5 minutes to root cause the issue, 10 minutes to replace the part. Thanks to Youtube I was able to repair my LED TV, washing machine, and dishwasher as well. These things are made to be serviced easily for the most part.

Another vote for YouTube.

The clothes washer agitator stopped moving. I searched Google and YouTube. Found a video which gave clear instructions for diagnosis and repair. I bought the needed part from an eBay vendor and it came four days later. $15 for the part (including shipping), 15 minutes to install, the machine works perfectly!

A few weeks later the broiler failed. No flame. I searched Google and YouTube. Found a video which gave clear instructions for diagnosis and repair. I bought the needed part from an Amazon vendor and it came four days later. $24 for the part (including shipping), 5 minutes to install, back in business!

This. I replaced a drain pump on a 4 year old front loading washer solely from watching a Youtube video. Replaced a hard drive and keyboard on a laptop. Just replaced the power steering pump on my car as well. Its a wealth of knowledge just waiting to be had. You can do it yourself.
