I am 71% Dixie, but I don't drink any kind of tea. I drink coffee. I don't eat grits either.
I was afraid I would not qualify as a Southerner because a lot of my answers came out as being used in other areas. I was really not truthful about all the answers. I went back to my childhood and got some words like "poke" instead of paper bag.
It is always good to tell the truth. I went back and took the test again giving answers I would use today and came out 76% Southern. I have been around so many people from other parts of the country and was a little concerned that maybe I was losing my Southern way. Glad I am still Southern.
I didn't hear the term "tag sale," until I heard Martha Stewart use it in the 90s.
I'm in CT, and I always have called it a 'tag sale'. I never heard 'garage sale' until a friend from Arkansas called it that...she said, what, are they selling tags?
I said, well, are they selling a garage??? What if they don't even have a garage?
I've been completely hooked on that sweet tea, from my Raleigh trips. It's almost unheard of here, but there is an Arby's on the way home from church that has real sweet tea-it's my regular Sunday stop now
Well my Chatham county rearing is showing! I scored 85% Dixie. My hubby's Chatham county roots are also showing, he scored 71%. Too bad there wasn't a question about greens on there!

I tried sweet tea when I was down in NC last June and it made my teeth ache! I love iced tea, but I like to add my own amount of sweetener.
