If you love Apple fritters you should stop at T Distefano's in Mebane if you ever driving past. They have fantastic ones. I haven't had Rise to compare so I might be making a stop on my way home..

Just what I need. Another source of temptation.
We had Carino's just last month using a coupon. Figured it was one place we hadn't been yet. After eating there, decided it was one place we wouldn't be returning to.
I've eaten at the Carinos in Brier Creek. Was not impressed with the taste, portion, nor price. Ambient was dark and uninviting.
If it had to be another Italian chain replacing Carinos at that location, based on my personal experiences, my vote in order would be:
1) Maggianos - love their family style menu, great food, classy restaurant
2) Olive Garden - good prices esp with their revolving menu promotions, unlimited salad and soup
3) Macaroni Grill - smaller portions, higher prices
4) Carabbas - even higher prices, food tastes so-so
This is what I don't understand. People rate restaurants on the taste of the food. Reality is almost all food chain restaurants use the same food service distributor and serve the same garbage. 2,3,& 4.....there is NO difference in the garbage served!!

Why? I didn't say I'm opposed to eating the garbage. I just stated I didn't understand why people rate the garbage when it's all the same garbage. In fact, I'm going to Hooter's at the airport tonight to eat some of their garbage wings and drink a fantastic Red Oak.

I went to that Johnny Carino's once...ordered a martini and they brought it out in a small tumbler. Waiter said they didn't have a clean martini glass. We left
