Sure would like to see more rebounds to work with.
It didn't seem like there were as many guys in front of the net last night as others. Could be part of the fatigue, maybe.

I do like the fact that Rod is keeping the shifts short to keep guys fresh, but that came back to bite them last night.

Aho seems to be doing just fine at center, thank you.

My wife and I are fairly new hockey fans (I'm trying to ween her off the Capitals), but even she looked at me last night and said, "What the <censored> is up with Faulk?". van Riemsdyk seemed to be playing a better game overall.

Losing the second of back-to-back road games by one goal to a team that played in the conference finals last season is not bad at all.

Agreed.
Another real test tonight in Tampa.

Seems like there are some not-so-good things about the Hurricanes that have carried over from last year, namely their complete ineffectiveness on power plays. Can't be a contender when you are, like, 2 for 2018.

As I've been in FL since the season started, I haven't seen the team play, only listened on the radio. When I watched them tonight vs. the Lightning, I wasn't as dazzled as I thought I'd be. Mrazek was pretty good in the pre-season, but he made me very nervous tonight. (Is it just me, or does he seem to twitch a lot?)

I know it's still early in the season and the team is still finding its groove, and I have 100% confidence in my coach and his captain, so I'm not ready to hit the panic button. Still, it would've been nice to crow a little with a win against my brother's team. They flashed a stat on the screen indicating that the Canes haven't won in Tampa since 2013. Rematch is January 10; I've already bought my ticket!

I'll be driving home this weekend and ready to see them at practice and in action up close and personal.

Was listening to a podcast that confirms Nylander is not being shopped.

However, if he were, the Hurricanes ARE listening. The commentator mentioned Nylander for Pesce. Trading Faulk would be easy. Would you pull the trigger on a Nylander/Pesce deal?

Problem with Nylander is this....I wouldn't pay him 8 million a year.

If he clears, TOI in Charlotte might help him find his game. Meanwhile, management continues its philosophy of earning TOI and accountability for TOI that's granted. And they still need scoring from the Necas line.

Is there going to be a corresponding move with the PDG waivers? Someone coming from Charlotte or is Darling going to be activated?

ETA: The Canes have sent Necas and Fleury to Charlotte and recalled Clark Bishop.
