I will tell Dr. Taylor the Campbells sent me!

On a different topic, can anyone recommend a good GYN? The one I've seen for 10+ years is not solving a problem I have. I'm very frustrated. I've been with Woman's Health Alliance in Cary for this long (including the birth of my children) because I didn't want to take the time to research another but now I'm ready. I haven't been overly thrilled with them. I never had a major problem but at times was treated by some of the doctors with an attitude especially if I had a problem that was difficult to solve. One of the doctors became nasty with me twice and I don't see him anymore. Anyway I'm getting pretty frustrated now. Their call backs are very slow; it often takes over 2 days for the nurses to get back to their patients. I may start a new thread on this question but if anyone here knows of a good one please let me know. The doctor can be in Apex or Cary. I recently called Dr. Welsh in Cary and they seemed nice but he is a one man show which is probably fine but I'm not used to seeing a doctor who practices alone in this area of medicine. Thanks for any help!
I went to Triangle ob/gyn back in the day (don't have insurance so I haven't seen a doctor in 5 years) - some of the doctor staff have changed since I was there - but it is a nice office and easy to access (right next to Western Wake in Cary off Tryon Road).

I absolutely love Michelle Korzi at Crescent family practice in Cary...its on the corner of Cary parkway and Tryon. She had left the practice for a while, but came back and I was so happy about that. She is a PA. I have a strong family history of female cancers, and have always used a separate OBgyn, but I found her right when we moved here and liked her so well. She can do your physical & obgyn exam together, which is very convienient. What I like about her is she takes her time, is genuinely concerned, and actually will call you the next day to make sure you are OK. Recently, I had some tests done because we were concerned about some symptoms I was having. She actually called me that night to let me know everything was ok so that I wouldn't have to worry all weekend. This is service I have never seen, and its great. Highly recommended!

I know I am not the OP, but I am the one that recommended Dr. Taylor. My husband has had 3 or 4 visits since that recommendation, fixing years of neglect and no insurance. He has had deep cleaning, as well as a few fillings and still highly recommends her office. We like the fact they do once a month Saturday appointments (of course if you break a Saturday appt they will not allow you to schedule another Saturday - out of common courtesy). They are within all normal and reasonable fees as well according to most insurances. They do not accept payments though and they do accept medicaid.

Default Dr. Meredith Taylor charges $35 for a missed appointment!

It is confusing and frustrating that they call themselves a "family dentist" since you are required to pay $35 (OVER THE PHONE!) before they will reschedule a missed appointment. Even the first time! No wiggle room here. I left a message this morning that my 18-month old woke up very sick and we couldn't make our app't today. They called and said "sorry--you'll have to pay the $35 fee in order for us to reschedule...because you did not give us 24-hour notice!"

Good service, but I'm sorry, this inflexibility does not work for my family.

Good luck!

Unfortunately yes this is difficult, but many offices are now charging for missed appointments because they can't sometimes get someone else in that slot - so it's missed revenue - no matter what the reason. It's hard to put yourself on the other side of the situation and understand the reasoning - especially when it's a sick child. I would be upset too, (but I did make my husband go to Dr. Taylor when he wasn't feeling well too), but I also try to see it from both sides. I feel that their service and staff is worth it - especially in finding a dentist for children and adults that takes all insurances.

Good luck finding a new dentist that doesn't charge - make sure to ask up front if they charge for missed appointments w/o a 24 hour notice.
