I wound up firing my real estate agent, so I'll be relying on a relative of mine and her real estate agent friend to catch anything I or my wonderful neighbors miss. I try to go out there and walk around (on non-rainy days) at least twice a week. The workers have seen me so often (I've been stalking the lot for the past 3 months), they speak to me when they see me and are extremely great about answering my questions (the ones who speak English are). I met one of my next door neighbors a few months back and he's been outside watching over the workers since they started. He's a very nice man!

My sister-in-law is buying in the neighborhood! I think they're going to purchase the lot right behind ours, too. It should be very cool to have them live so close.

Sammy, what floor plan are they going to buy? I was out there Saturday, checking out our lot/foundation and I must say, my yard is a lot bigger than I thought (the garage still looks small, though).

Another thread on this forum got me thinking: Will I have to worry about snakes? I back up to the wetlands (with a tree buffer) and was told by a coworker that snakes live in the water. Then someone here asked about snakes and was told that Copperheads and Cottonmouths can be seen in some yards. Uh, yeah, not what I want to hear!

I think they're doing the Wynfield, but I'm not sure. Whatever that new model home is, I believe.

I haven't heard about snakes in the area, nor have I seen any on my jogs through the neighborhood but I haven't been looking... I hope not - I've got a toddler who's much too curious for my tastes! You and Addie saw my boy; he's sort of a handful.

Sammy, your boy is a Sweetie!

Sena, talk to your neighbors about snake concerns. I once saw a worm snake in my back yard when I was mowing, and that has been it. You've been to my house, though, so you know I don't back up to the woods or to any water. I do have deer in my back yard on a regular basis, though!

Anyone here with significant drainage issues around their lots? All of my neighbors have problems with water just standing in the swales around their houses. I've emailed our field manager a few times and he says he's "working on it" but those of you who haven't closed on your houses, make sure that they deal with any drainage issues you might have before you close. I'm thinking specifically of sena and chemteacher but there may be others who are building that I don't know about.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I did a drive-by of Grandale the other day out of curiosity after reading CD threads, and I was impressed. What a beautiful neighborhood! Perhaps it was the spring buds, but the look hit me just right. I hope you guys enjoy your new homes there!

We are not having a problem with ours right now... Pretty wet in some areas last year, but this year is, so far, a different story.

Good luck with that, Sbanawan!
