Since most seem to call "N Raleigh" the area north of 440, what do you call the area(s) up around Six Forks, Falls of Neuse/etc north of 540 and points beyond?
If it is North of 540 but still within the city limits of Raleigh I call it North Raleigh. If it is outside the city limit boundary of Raleigh (unicorporated area) it is simply Northern Wake County. Makes sense to me.
This thread raises a good point; one that I have wondered before.
Why is the area north of 540 between Leesville and Falls of Neuse so conspicuously NOT part of Raleigh proper? This area is very developed with many neighborhoods of big expensive houses. Why has it been given a pass on annexation all these years?
I'm north of 540 between Capital & Falls of Neuse. And as far as I'm concerned I'm in N. Raleigh. As long as you're south of 98 and have a Raleigh address IMO you're a North Raleigh resident.
