Hi guys, I am relocating soon to the RTP area, and I have started my job hunt over the internet, however, it does seem to be a little more difficult than expected. It seems that most I have spoken to on the phone are telling me to come see them when I arrive, but are not to willing to offer anything over the phone.
I work as a clinical research manager or coordinator, if anyone has any suggestions for me, I would really appreciate it, needing some fellow advice guys, please dont slam me about moving without work.... I am not stupid, and realize the risk which is why I am working very hard to find something now
So can any one lend me any advice if you work in this field?

thanks

Hopefully you're talking to to companies like Quintiles, PPD and PRA - they are the main CROs in this area. Many pharma and bio-tech companies may have similar positions. You might also check out Duke Clinical Research Insititute.

Default relocating and looking for work

Thanks Transplant!, actually I have checked out PPD, Quintiles, I applied for work last night. But first thing this morning I got a call about a job there, of course they could not fly me out for an interview so she said to call when I arrive to schdule interview. The one good thing is that at least I am getting phone calls, I got another call from someone in Charlo area about a job too, Now im not sure how to handle this at all?

It's very hard to look for a job from afar. Many employers will not view a remote candidate as being as viable as someone who is local. It creates one of those Catch-22 situations: Hard to move without a job; hard to get a job without moving. I suggest you try to arrange a week in which you can visit the area and schedule as many in-person interviews for that week as you can.

Default Moving and looking for work

Thanks transplant, thats a good idea, Im pretty optimistic that I will find a job, even if its lower pay, its worth it to be with my daughter again.
I do have a little nest egg to carry me for some time. I am a firm believer that when you want something bad enough, good things come to you, you just have to have patience and prayer.
I do thank you for your advice, im so excited about living in a beautiful place away from vegas and near my daughter again, that all the challenges I face will be worth it ya know.
thanks Transplant!
