CBS pregame hyped and promoted the New England/Tampa game from London for and hour. Come 1:00pm, they cut over to an INFOMERCIAL!!! Are you kidding me?????
This is the CBS "National Game" with Simms and Nance covering the game and it is not shown in Raleigh???????
Its because this is FOX's week for the doubleheader. And it just so happens that the Panthers are playing an AFC team today at 4pm and the game is on CBS. So since CBS can only show one game locally, they are obligated to show us the Carolina game.
Yea...exactly. It is a terrible arrangement that the NFL has in regards to their rules. When you consider the NFL Network issues and these double-header rules and rules the only allow the network to show only a certain number of minutes when switching to another game, the NFL actually limits your access to the games. Any college Saturday..you can watching any number of games at the same time on various networks.
No doubt Steelers and Vikings were a great game. But what I don't like is always feeling so limited with the NFL. Yea...I know that you can PAY for the NFL Package on Direct TV but as I said earlier. College FB is on endless channels on any given Saturday, all day long so I can flip when I prefer another game of if I am watching bad game, etc. With the NFL, you are often stuck with what is on...bad game, good game, uninteresting game, etc.
Blame the NFL and their retarded rules. I wonder what it would take to get them to modify this, but I can see in the future it becoming an issue as content providers start to move to more online initiatives in terms of streaming media.
With the MLB I know it's possible to watch games live and on demand via their website (subscription required).

Their current TV contract is secured until after the 2013 season so we will have to wait for the 2014 season to see any changes to the TV contract.
Hopefully, the NFL will be smarter by then and offer the NFL Sunday Ticket through any cable retailer (Comcast, Cox, TWC, etc) or through an Internet subscription. The NFL currently offers a subscription service that allows you to watch every NFL game online (in SD) but you have to sign up and watch the games from a non-US IP address. It is intended for US NFL fans who live abroad (military, State Department, etc.). Offering it in HD to everyone in the US would open up a huge spigot of cash for the NFL (I know several people who don't have cable and watch most of their shows via download/streaming).
