Architects have been designing and successfully built "cubist" houses for well over 100 years that are still standing just fine, in great condition all over the world and are very desirable to plenty of people. That aesthetic or design model may not be to your taste, or even particularly popular but that doesn't invalidate it as part of the great spectrum of design in domestic architecture. Especially in dense urban spaces a century ago and leading up to today that simple shape can successfully yield a handsome structure with the space desired within strict building regulations.
In our city a 100 y.o. architect Irving Gill designed cubist house is very highly valued, so much so that it probably could not be altered to any noticeable extent because of this city's strong historical resource board rules and would certainly command a premium in the resale market.
I would
love to have one myself- three are on the street I live on.
