You shouldn't need your wife's signature on any document that is necessary for a male name change. I am currently procrastinating on changing my own last name, and all it takes is some annoying paperwork, about 450 bucks, and a court appearance.

Like other's have said, your story is fishy.

Lindsay is that you? When I spent a night in the drunk tank at ASU back in the day...they put me in there before I could get "Lindsay's" phone number. Ah...what could have been.

Well, let's just say that I am starting to suspect the worst about the assault and battery charges.

It's not the social...its just the name..

I found out today...he did a name search first...and then he did a social search and saw that the middle names where different.

I have a valid passport and a valid DL from another state and I'm having a problem getting a new DL.

Just wanted you to know, the name change may create it's own new set of problems. My H has the same name as a guy who defaulted on a bunch of student loans and wrote bad checks. We have been affected by this and the Sheriff even showed up once to serve warrants and arrest him.
Thanks for the info
