Not just you but any woman wouldn't go for a man shorter than her. In fact, i spoke to a woman once who told me that she would never date someone like me as I was of average height(5'8") since she only dated guys who were 6' and above although she herself was 5'1". But since she had so many options to choose from, she said she wouldn't date someone like me since I was from a minority race which she said was a turn off to her and then my height was another factor that prevented her from considering me. Just saying as it is.

jesus do you not understand? you have control over your weight so that comparison fails

greenpapayas has it right being a 6'1" woman is far easier than say a 5' 5" man

btw papayas why are you getting it done in russia? dont they do the old outdated method with the rods outside the leg? or is it because it is much cheaper there?

Green, I'm shorter than you and think you're taking it a bit too far. At 5'8, there are so many women 5'4 and shorter that WILL pay you attention. 5'8 is just under the US average. You are taller than most average women and under (5'5) even with them wearing heels. You're not even short according to US standards (and I don't mean 'street short' where anything under 6' or 5'10 is considered short).

Short is literally 5'6 and under. Women as small as 5'2 will be taller than me (5'6.5) in heels or wedges, and 5'6 is smaller than most guys (20th percentile). Not trying to attack you, but you should seek therapy not surgery. I don't see 5'8 celebrities or 5'8 guys on the street being laughed at b/c of their height. I could understand maybe wishing you were taller at 5'8, but your height isn't socially inhibiting garnering jokes like someone in the "true" short category.

Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Mario Lopez, Usher and Mark Wahlberg are all 5'8 and always have the ladies after them, and their height is rarely questioned or the source of comedy routines. I never hear height jokes about them. Tom Cruise is about 5'7, and even though he's famous, guys like him and shorter will always have jokes thrown in their direction. Like I said 5'8 is the minimum socially acceptable man height in this US right now.

NO WAY!!

I think this is the biggest dealbraker i have with man. I could date a fat man, for example, or a man with a big nose, or someone thats not considered good looking, but, im sorry if this looks bad or shallow on my part, i would NEVER EVER DATE A SHORT MAN!!!! And by short, i mean less than 5´9´.

Im 5´8´and I already feel uncomfortable around man that are the same height as me. I dont like them, i dont preffer them, but if the PERFECT man would come with a 5´8´height i could make an exception, but theres no way i would ever give a second look to someone shorter than that, let alone being seen in public with them!!!

Im sorry if this sounds harsh, but i find short men really really unatracctive and the thought of a tall woman walking around with a short man is disgusting, i would never do that. I have rejected lovely, good looking in the face, inteligent, funny, witty, smart, 5`4`, 5`5`, 5`6 men, and i would reject a 5`7´too. Im sorry, but this is how it is, nothing more unnatractive than short men, at least in my eyes.

"Thanks for the message, but i'm just not interested. Best of luck in finding what you're looking for
though!

p.s...most tall woman won't date men shorter-it's kind of a thing most of us have. Good luck
finding someone your own height."

So as you see, most tall women wouldn't even consider a shorter man, and so wouldn't most short women who are extremely insecure of their inferior stature and project that hate towards their fellow shorter men. Also, I have sent a message to 5 other taller women in the similar way and none of them responded back although they all did look at my profile.

Here's what one of the woman's profile says, she's 5'11" by the way:

"If you are shorter than me, please don't message me. I don't care how shallow this seems but I honestly don't like short men, sorry can't give up wearing my heels. In fact I won't even respond if you are short"
I completely understand those women on plentyoffish Im 5´8´and i dont give short men a second look, whenever they approach me i think they are off my eye radar and they should just go talk with the shorter people and dont bother with the tall ones.

Well Greenapapays, if you're looking for a reason to get LL..... Lol. But if I got two extra inches from LL surgery, I wouldn't be so concerened about the 5'8 and up crowd. Plenty of good looking women 5'5 and under.

Some of us do. I mean, i could settle with a 5´10´Brad Pitt in his good days, but, ideally, i go for men more than 6 feet. Both of my long term boyfriends were above 6 feet. My current bf is only 6 feet and i often tell him he is too short for me, like i use a little heel shoe and im as tall as him, i dont like that, i will preffer if he was 6´3´or more but oh well.

The other day i was DEVASTATED to find that my biggest movie crush actor, Robert downey junior, was a MIDGET, I was drooling over him for years thinking he was the hottest guy ever and now if i ever see him in a movie again, i will think he is a midget and he is ugly-looking
