Buddy Guy is in his 70's and still tours and was a huge influence on Hendrix....but check out this 8 year old kid and you know Buddy is one cool mother to let this kid upstage him on his own stage.

This is music

Indeed, in NY especially. Wasn't all that popular on the west coast or other parts of the country. I played a lot of different clubs...dance/techno, old school, R&B, Salsa, country, rock/variety, oldies etc. Back in the late 80's a bunch of oldies clubs popped up around NYC...Chevy's, Hot Rods, Shout, Thunderbirds etc. I worked several of them and they were always the most fun places to work and the music wasn't bad either.

Quinn is amazing - I've seen several videos of him. Must be nice to have that much talent at such a young age...

I love all music.

It's what keeps me above ground...... I don't mean that lightly... I'm student of music...

I'll play Hank Willians... then I'll play Five finger death punch...... then I'll play ABBA...... followed up by some Beethoven's # 9......

All rock is founded on blues music.

The chord structures and tempo's are blues based........ it's just a little faster is all.....

Here's a great example of Zeppelin's When the Levee is Going to Break

Which was actually written in 1939 by Memphis Minnie

Zeppelin's version - same lyrics

I can appreciate most styles of music.

Except for Rap and country. I want to understand the lyrics and not have every song be about there dog, tractor, truck or wife that left them.

That's so cool. I've never been to them (or at least I don't recall that I have). I left the US at the start of the 90's, so most of the clubs I remember actually going to were during the mid-late 80's like Danceteria and sometimes Area & Tunnel, (when we could get in).

Zeppelin was sued by several different artists who they "borrowed" music from...Sonny Boy Williamson for Bring it on Home, Willie Dixon for Whole Lotta Love, and more recently Jake Holmes for Dazed and Confused.

To be fair, a lot of musicians, to include the black blues musicians of previous generations stole and borrowed music from one another.
