Buddy Guy is in his 70's and still tours and was a huge influence on Hendrix....but check out this 8 year old kid and you know Buddy is one cool mother to let this kid upstage him on his own stage.
I'm sure you recall the Guido club music that was popular back then.
Indeed, in NY especially. Wasn't all that popular on the west coast or other parts of the country. I played a lot of different clubs...dance/techno, old school, R&B, Salsa, country, rock/variety, oldies etc. Back in the late 80's a bunch of oldies clubs popped up around NYC...Chevy's, Hot Rods, Shout, Thunderbirds etc. I worked several of them and they were always the most fun places to work and the music wasn't bad either.

This is music
Quinn is amazing - I've seen several videos of him. Must be nice to have that much talent at such a young age...

That's so cool. I've never been to them (or at least I don't recall that I have). I left the US at the start of the 90's, so most of the clubs I remember actually going to were during the mid-late 80's like Danceteria and sometimes Area & Tunnel, (when we could get in).
Zeppelin was sued by several different artists who they "borrowed" music from...Sonny Boy Williamson for Bring it on Home, Willie Dixon for Whole Lotta Love, and more recently Jake Holmes for Dazed and Confused.
To be fair, a lot of musicians, to include the black blues musicians of previous generations stole and borrowed music from one another.
