How come society does not look down on adult women who are unemployed and still live with their parents ?
Those types of women are still able to get a date because no man will see them as lazy bums.
Oh please. There are plenty of men who look down on such women. Most men are terrified of ending up with a golddigger. Imagine how they'd feel about dating someone who has no income. I'm sure you'll find some guy who'll be willing to date her. But most will steer clear because they'll see her as too high risk.

Its not society that doesnt look down on them, its the men who dont look down on them, because they dont care. Fellow women who are not leeching may look down on these girls..who knows?
Well, I'll tell you what, I've known more than a few adult females who do this, and I can assure you that the criticism from others is just as harsh as if they'd been males. Leeching adult children is a growing cancer in the US that I simply cannot stand and my feelings do not discrminate.
Perhaps a few of the parents may come up with more excuses because it's their "little girls". But. . . they're not little girls anymore.

As a society, sure; it's the whole "men take care of women" thing from our ancestral roots thousands of years ago.
But, me, personally, a woman had to be living on her own for several years, and be able to be without a boyfriend successfully for six months. Worked well, too. Got me an independent one!
A woman living with her parents is percieved as being more chaste than one who lives on her own. So is a man who lives with his parents...but that's less acceptable for men, according to our culture.
