It's just you and your lack of stimulants.
The place does have something to do with it. Anyone suggesting starbucks lacks imagination. You have to go to a NONE chain cafe. A patio would be great too. But you have to bring your A-game chica
At any rate it's not about being cheap or undiscerning of who you date its about being in an atmosphere that is conducive to actually getting to know someone. You have nothing but your cafe and sparkling personality to rely on... not up to par much?
Why do you need to rely on a cafe? Sounds like you need a crutch.
Back when I was dating, coffee shops and the mall were for first meets, not first dates. If I had already met the man, it had better be something more than coffee for a first date - and it was.
As the Original post read [Edited for content] The OP asked "How do you feel about a coffee date" which most people have said is fine, but the conversation degraded into "why we hate Starbucks for a first date"
The definitive answer, is a Low impact, very public place, that has a place to sit and feel each other out (not up!) is a great pre-date 'coffee' location
The first date, is the date to impress.

I would never meet a girl at a starbucks should she suggest it. If her taste in coffee is that lousy then there is obviously no future to be had with her.
Maybe not that many of dates of PLENTY OF NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-LMAO
I often have a very difficult time trying to decipher your little bursts of internet-speak and this is a classic example. Could you maybe try to say what you're trying to say more coherently? Maybe even the LMAO comment might then make sense.

Spot on, NY Annie, Actually I most firmly believe that the real world dating scenario remains the same where this is concerned.
This forum is so often fascinating in a rather dark Fellini sort of way as it primarily attracts those who have major problems in relationships and, often, those who simply can't change their MO despite all good advice and post time and time again with the same old questions which have already been asked and answered.
Internet forums such as this are beneficial to many but they're not representative of the mass.
I do think that when I was growing up, access to this sort of information might well have saved me from the many errors I made where relationships were concerned. It saddens me that with so much information to hand, so many remain so dumb. Lacking reading comprehension, arguing with those who are simply trying to offer good advice based on experience, being rude - all so unnecessary.
I'm just happy that, just once in a while, someone DMs me and says thank you. Cheers!

Not many dates but plenty of HAPPY ENDINGS!!!
