Yes - there are always going to be people like that. But it's not the books and the movies that are making people like that. You are either like that or you aren't. If you are like that - if it wasn't Twilight it would be something else. If you aren't like that - all the romantic books and movies in the world won't make you lose sight of reality.

And to be honest - most movies and books aren't realistic - that's why they are so entertaining. I just had a baby. Now - whenever I see a tv show or a movie where a character just had a baby - I think - WOMEN DO NOT LOOK LIKE THAT 2 DAYS AFTER GIVING BIRTH! But it's a MOVIE. It's not real. Most people know the difference and live their lives accordingly.

That's so true. I do have a certain soft spot for romance novels because it's a way to escape my reality of getting bitched at at work, beer and pool with the guys and irritating roommates.

The only bit of romance I've had in the past few months was a coworker giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek because I was having a bad day.

Men in romantic novels written for women are basically women with a dick.

But aren't plenty of guys caring? I mean at least 1 out of two guys could be described as "caring".

same goes for multi-faceted.

romantic novels for chicks should be viewed as porn for guys, it's an entertainment, but nothing to really expect.

I have come across more than a few women lately with their brains totally fried by twilight. Shame really. Even more shocking is mothers that are indoctrinating their daughters in such stuff.

I've neither seen the movies or the books and don't plan to.

The feminazi smear on men that we are all about fantasy, well, I tell you women are not any better.

Such garbage has fried women's and men's brains alike, IMO. Not only has it lead to unrealistic expectations, but it is also a major factor in the "dumbing down" of society in general.

Popular culture in 2011 makes me gag.

I'm all about results, not theory.

Women talk all this stuff about wanting caring, thoughtful, multi faceted men, but in reality they consider those guys creepy and weird and reject them wholesale in favor of whatever obnoxious tard is available.

I would suspect if women actually encountered the dreamy loveboat from twilight in real life, he'd probably be rejected.

Media to me is something which has it's purpose, but too much dependency on it creates unrealistic expectations.

I find it deeply disturbing how many mothers are sucking their children into that whole twilight thing.

You're totally right. Twilight is to blame for all the troubles that men have.

Mass media in no way affects my relationships with men, friends or family.

Twilight, Danielle Steel, or Disney is no more an influence in my views of romance, than the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants or Beaches affects my view on my female friendships.

Feminazi is a stupid, retarded and ridiculous word.

Do you men even know any women who are hard core feminists or do you pull this crap from your asses
