I seem to always get that I either smell good or that I'm sweet/nice. I prefer to get told that I smell good. Reason is because, well...it means I don't smell bad. And smelling bad is something that usually is an instant turnoff to most people, both males and females. If you get a few compliments from people saying you smell good, then chances are that you do indeed smell good.
The biggest compliment isn't always words. Sometimes a smile or a sincere look in my eyes tells me that the other person likes me. That's the best compliment of all.
women seem to like compliments that are not obvious. If you are smooving on a woman you'd probably be better off complimenting her hands or something than just telling her she's hot...right? makes it seem like you are paying attention and notice her finer qualities.

That's true, too. Pointing out something more unusual and unique to her would be much appreciated.
