Some people flirt simply to get attention, not because they want you. They want everyone's approval.

Unfortunately there is different interpretations between the two for everybody. I am always told that I am very flirty. I can remember a couple of times when girls would tell me I am flirting, even though I found them unattractive. So I dont know what I do that is grounds for flirting. On the flipside, I have had girls flirt with me that I have been completely oblivious to. lol

Non-verbal signs -

Twirling her hair

Face blushed or ears red

Pupils dilated

Taking opportunity to touch you on the arm etc and holding it for longer than a friendly touch daintily...

Verbal -

She says she likes you....

It's impossible for me to discern between someone who is subtly flirting and someone who is just nice and friendly. Body language helps a lot for me.

I just assume that a woman is always being friendly until told otherwise.

It's so tricky that I don't even know most of the time.

It's gotten to the point to where guys I'm just being nice to, or asking what time it is, end up asking me out because they think I'm flirting.

I actually toned my unintentional flirting down. I used to be a super flirt, and unintentionally sent loads of mixed messages.

I blame my parents. Both of them are natural flirts, so I picked up all of my habits from them.

I think we need a theme song for the thread:

This has always been a bit of a blurry line for me. In my defense, I act the same way around similar playful women, so it's not like I do it for men only.

I must add that I always appreciate a very good flirt! There is no bigger turn on then a women who is obviously flirting with you! I love getting a hand on my chest, or a nice smile with a little bit of a squint in the eyes.
