Who Pays On The First Few Dates? (man, lover, American)

I just pay all the time. I really don't get how this is a big deal, if she offers to pay fine, but if she doesn't, I am pretty sure I can cover a $30-$75 meal, without wondering if the lights are going to be cut off. It has honestly never bothered me to pay for a date, and honestly I have been asked out on dates way more than I have actually asked someone out, and I never expected her to pay, nor would I entertain the notion.

I like it when things revolve around both of us, not just her. We are both happy to go out so it doesn't matter who asked who or if she's the lady in the scene. It is our date, it is our expenses.

the guy always offers to pay and i let him. i've offered a few times when the dude took some time fumbling around in his wallet or whatever, but they've always insisted in those cases, too. i don't see any logical reason why the man should have to pay but yes i do expect it to happen just because it always does. i would only insist on paying if i wanted to make it very clear that i wasn't romantically interested in him.

of course it is different once you get past the first few dates if you make it that far. i pay for almost every date with my bf now because i have more money than he does.

Whoever asks has to pay. And yes, women DO ask men out on dates. I'm 7 dates into a new relationship. He did the asking on 4. He paid for 4. I did the asking on 3. I paid for 3. Easy peasy.
