My GF gets hit on pretty regularly. 2-3 times a week on average. She says she would rather it not happen at all.
I find this statement very hard to believe.
For women that get hit on regularly and in a relationship or have been, be honest, would you seriously say you would rather not be hit on at all?
you don't know what you got till its gone..........
It gets annoying after a while especially when you have a wedding ring on or you have told them once already you are not interested but to be fair, that gets annoying after a while even when you are not in a long term relationship and are not looking, just out having a girls night.

If it happens to her that often, she may feel like she's being viewed as a piece of meat. It's not flattering to feel that the sum of who you are is reduced solely to how you look on the outside.
At all, ever? Of course not. But it is nice to not care about whether I am pretty enough. My mother-in-law and I were out walking and she suggested we stop for a martini. I protested that I was in jeans with a ponytail and no makeup. "Who cares?" she asked. She was right. We were invisible and it was nice not to care.
I wouldn't want to be invisible all the time, though.

Considering how all too many guys act when their come ons are rebuffed - no matter how politely - I can well understand women who wish it would not happen at all. Every time for them must be a case of thinking "Oh no - I hope this guy is not one of the ones who go ape when I sprun his advances" with a knot in their stomach hoping this time goes well.
