I understand that long distance romantic relationships are not easy. I met a man and we really it it off while he was in my city for a couple of weeks. I am a few years older than him, he in his 20s and I in my 30s. We have so much in common and can talk forever about anything. In addition, there is much physical attraction between the two of us although we've never been sexual with each other. We are now 3000 miles apart. We have been in communication and it has been 4 months now. While we've told each other we've missed each other, how much we enjoy communicating, are attracted to each other and what not, nothing else has happened. He will be coming into town to visit family very soon and we've talked about seeing each other again. Here's the problem. I am in the middle of a separation with my husband. He knows this and has stated, when asked, that this is the reason he cannot be that interested in me. I guess I'm just confused. If that is the case, then why keep in contact with me at all. Why keep talking with me and expressing that he enjoys talking with me more than almost anyone and telling me how attractive I am. Has he filed me in friend category? Just keeping in touch as a back-up plan or does he actually have feelings and cannot pursue due to my situation? I wish he would just tell me as it's been difficult to move on. Thoughts?

Some men enjoy teasing women. Gives him an ego boost.
That said, you are still married, so he is wise to keep a distance from you.
