I've been enjoying dating and having a lot of success at it, these two thing are not unrelated. People tend to like things they do well at and things they don't, not so much. As to the 1st date credentials, yeah, some women try to put out their resume but its easy enough to steer the conversation elsewhere.
Another reason men don't like dating, is because not only do we get rejected a LOT, but we get rejected MEANLY. We get insulted, called a "loser", and told how pathetic we are. At least I do, and i'm sure most guys have experienced quite a few mean rejections. I'm not sure why people feel the need to be mean to someone who politely expresses interest in them. I'll never understand this. I would never treat another human being that way when they did nothing wrong to me.
Frankly, i'd rather have 20 polite rejections than one mean insulting one. It's completely unnecessary and it's so hurtful.
