Usually when I break up w/ someone, I want them gone! Not lingering around in my circle of friends.

There is much needed space in this scenario.
Actually I have to respectfully disagree w/ your post. The OP mentioned meeting the ex for lunch in her first post...Quoted below

"The ex and I are friendly now (and I believe that he still has feelings for me) and yesterday we met up for lunch and caught up w/ everything. He confirmed my suspicions and gave me all the details (how they ran into each other several times, last time was Christmas Eve, have had conversations and how they are cool, etc)"

I still think it hurts, not discounting that. But, the fact that it hurts means imo that she really isn't over this ex. And, the combo of feeling betrayed by her friend makes it more pronounced.

Same just happened to me my best friend would always tell me she hated him and to leave him that i deserved better ... we been over for about a month and just found out they been calling each other and meeting up. All she could say is it's not a big deal and she didn't tell me cause i would react this way, but if its nothing why hide it also she knew that i still wanted us to work things out we have a baby together also. I know im not overreacting cause friends just dont do these kinds of things .. obviously there's no respect and probably never was.
