This is not specific to one dark woman, this is the norm for most of us. We are tormented due to our treatment.
The reason they think she is an anomaly is because some of the dark women they know put on an 'act' when they are in public--kinda like how Monique used to preach she was fat and proud or how Gabourey Siddibe is always on TV smiling and acting like a Valley Girl despite the fact that she's obese and incredibly dark--we know behind closed doors she has serious issues with her self image but she can't project that onto the world. Well some of the naive posters see the fake confidence some dark black women portray as real, when its just a mask for their pain. I know a darkskin lady who is always bubbly, talking and joking with people...she is the epitome of that sassy, over confident black woman but when we get on the phone she talks about how men "ignore" her.

I dislike that they try to trivialize us by stating that we are the same person. It is just a ploy to distract attention away from our comments. You can conduct a search and find Nyanna's comments. I think she made a lot of valid points about colorism. Apparently, they hated her too, because she spoke the truth.

I don't really care any more, I am going to continue to be honest.

I know right??
she is a severe case, i say she should be surrounded by specialists who can treat her mental problem and not posting in a forum with a million different nicknames. I even doubt she is a "dark skinned woman" maybe "she" is some crazy racist guy of any colour

I surrender..........please continue to wallow in your self loathing, miserable, worthless, good for nothing, pity party.....
I'm not trying to wallow in self pity. In my freetime I've been attending local festivals, and carnivals in efforts to meet men however I see many of them at these events have their eyes on the lighter toned black women. Instead of feeling powerless and remaining angry, I decided to use my savings to get my skin lightened at a dermatology clinic. I am being proactive and finding solutions so that I can have success with the opposite sex. Far cry from wallowing in self pity

I agree, it's just one big facade that dark women put on.

The best that we can do is just disappear. I notice that many dark women tend to be fat. It's almost like they are eating out of share misery and depression. What they don't know is, they become more noticeable when they are fat. The only way to disappear is to become a size 0. All of these haters will be so jealous of our discipline. They always want to picture dark women as loud, fat and aggressive.

Imagine if they can't use that imagery on us any more. What will they do?

I think it's great that you are going out. I am on family medical leave at work, so I have pretty much a lot of time on my hands at the moment. I stopped going outside. I don't want to get darker, now that the sun is out due to the summer weather. There is just no reason for me to take in the constant abuse, but I applaud you for your courage. I wish that I was able to do the same.

Don't go to events just because you want to get noticed by the opposite sex. Go to enjoy yourself and all the things you do there. If the only reason you want to go is to get noticed, you should find another activity.

Society made sure there's a stereotype for every type of black woman so that we'd have no escape. If all dark women became thin then we'd be stereotyped as Omarosa or perhaps jezebels, gold diggers.
