IME, most real relationships, the ending comes when we both agree it's not going to work. It's not really a dumper/dumpee thing. It's more of a shared bummer.
I haven't been the dumpee since 8th grade. I didn't break up with guys because I couldn't tolerate them - I broke up with them because we simply didn't work out.

I have no complaints. I'm very happy and I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with. I look at my past relationships with mostly fondness and I'm still really close friends with my high school/college sweet heart.
Apart from cheating i would tolerate anything if i love someone ( which is highly unlikely) Do people change ? Yes. They do. But i don't believe in conditional love.
I dated several guys and most time things just fizzled out, no big break up or anything. Someone didn't call, someone else didn't care. LOL. I broke up with one guy in HS and one guy broke up with me in college then I got married. Then I filed for divorce 30 years later. Let's just say I put up with A LOT...but not dating another woman while being married to me. That actually is where I drew the line.
These days (when/if I date again) I won't put up with much but don't expect anything either. I'm neutral on the idea of another relationship.
Never managed to sustain a relationship longer than two years, eh?
Wrong.
But anyone who believes in mutual break ups lacks intuition.
