It wasn't a bad bite...it was a nip but still, he showed aggression. Thankfully the person is fine. I think it was "the perfect storm" kind of situation, but that doesn't change anything.
Not sure what we will/need to do. Thinking of calling the Vet tomorrow for some advice.
I talked with a good friend who is removed from the situation. He cautioned us against making any knee-jerk reactions so we are going to take his advice.
Call the vet, definitely. I don't know what the situation was but your dog could be sick or in pain which can cause aggression if it's triggered.
Also, as much as people don't like to hear it, dog bites are almost always the result of human error - owner or bitee.
Be aware that if you tell your vet about the bite, they will probably have to report it. That could result in quarantine.

I'm 99% sure it was just the circumstances but there are some behaviors we need to train him out of that could have helped to prevent this. I am thinking of calling the vet to get a recommendation for a trainer that comes to the house. In the meantime, nobody is allowed in our home except for those that live here.
I'm off to work in a few minutes, but just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Memorial Day!
If you're not working, I hope that you get out, eat plenty of bbq, go to the beach, and just enjoy your day
Thanks, same to you.

I'm sorry about your situation, Sixy. It sounds like you have it under control, though. Good luck.
We took the kayaks out for the first time this year. Well, since last august. We had a great time. I managed to catch one fairly decent trout and had several more bites. It was a great time. Now to work this evening.

Probably a good policy!
I have a pit and I am paranoid as hell about something happening even though she's as sweet as pie. I understand.
Tara the cat handled business well when that little snapperhead of a dog attacked that kid. I still can't believe that cat bum rushed that dog the way she did.
Good kitty....
Mrs. Chow started a thread in the nature forum on it.
I got 9 stitches breaking up two of our dogs from fighting years ago. The consensus was I should have killed it but I understand the risk when you go sticking your limbs where sharp teeth are involved.
