Going on ten years now, my daughter's age. The relationship fizzled when she was born and ended about a year after.
While no one asked, my belief is that no decent lady worth their kicks wouldn want to date a single father. For my proof, it is mentioned to be true quite a few times in this forum.
Last relationship was with my late hubby, so I've been widowed/single now for 6 years, 5 months and 2 days. I did date someone on and off (mostly off) for about 6 months in 2010-which really shouldn't have gone past the 2nd date-and have only had 2 first dates since then; one was last year and one was last month.
I would think even heavy marginally attractive women could find some decent/ok looking guy who has decided to settle. I know people on this forum like to grand stand about how it will be a cold day in hell before they "settle", etc, etc, etc. But some people just get tired of the game and just want someone to have regular sex with and a friend always there to go do things with.
I don't believe that will solve much. You seem to believe relationships solve everything.
Healthy ones actually do, regular sex does wonders for peoples mental and physical health. What I have noticed is everyone seems to be busy beyond belief so the sex becomes less than regular so it then becomes a sort of pesudo relationship.
What is everyone so busy doing anyways, considering 99% of us are relativly broke (compared to the 1% in our country with all the money), why not chill out and make time to have more sex, cuddle on the couch, etc. Learn to feel chemistry with someone that does not look like kate upton or channing tatum.

Some people just feel that it is trivial and not worth paying attention to, and think there are more important matters to attend to.
To each his own. Everyone lives life differently.
I don't believe they solve everything, you can't really rely on a person to solve your problems. Support helps but the only person that can solve your problems is YOU. Trying to cover it up or run away from with sex isn't a good idea at least that's how I feel. People shouldn't get into the habit of running away from their problems.
This thread is depressing, if we all got laid and were in healthy relationships, life would be much better.
So what are you doing to make that happen for yourself if you find it so depressing?

Didn't take you long to get back to your usual spiel did it?

A good relationship can add to a person's life yes but some of these guys think that a relationship or sex will heal all of their other issues instantly instead of tending to those other issues first. It's been said ad nauseam on this forum and yet they refuse to let it sink in.

You are correct, and yet you aren't.
Having a great relationship can be immensely fulfilling. Some people crave that fulfillment in life, and want to share their lives with someone else. There is nothing wrong with that, and it doesn't mean that they are trying to find a crutch to solve problems.
On the other hand, people who aren't healthy enough for a relationship shouldn't rely on a man/woman to fulfill them, so in that respect, you are correct.
