Back in the day it was "almost" acceptable to come home drunk and slap ye olde lady around too.

Adding: More than likely activity like that was just swept under the rug.

Most people (men and women)have a mix of modern and traditional values. I have a lot of traditional values being very religious, yet I have a career, don't cook unless I have to, and pay my fair share on dates.

I've never met a woman who claims to "be traditional" that couldn't wait to make us dinner. In fact, the women that actually have traditional values don't ever feel the need to broadcast that right after you meet them.
Well I spilt with the guy because I do not believe in the guy should pay.

That's how I feel as well. Traditional has been used by others to describe me (I love cooking, working with toddlers) but I wouldn't say I am religious or politically conservative. I'd describe my bf as more traditional than he realizes, which is not a bad thing

This reminds me of one of the losers I found on a religious site. He claimed to be traditional but basically was a misogynist who believed had the right to be hit by their spouses.

He also had the right to go to jail.

Heh. A modernistic approach to "traditional values."

This guy told me his ex dumped him because he pushed her after she refused to obey him. He honestly didn't understand why she dumped him, that is just sad.

I like traditional people as in religious. For example while I am modern in many ways in others I am not. I couldn't date a man who was modern in some ways, like sleeping around, etc.

There's nothing modern about people sleeping around.
