I'm only 33 but if anything I have gotten MORE picky with age.

I think most people do. We're willing to put up with much less crap, and know what we like and don't like much better with age.

Exactly.

Who said they weren't picky?

It's about what they (or you) are being picky about.

I'm certain if a woman were to hang out at a urologists office she could find men for whom
sex (the full monty) is an impossibility... that would be one sort of picky.

Other women might accept (if not look for) one of the porn&masturbation addicted men because they won't bother the women for their sexual gratification. Many long standing marriages will fall into this sort of complacency (consciously or not) as a means to holding on to the rest of their relationship.

Then there are the cuckqueans.
---

otoh... those who women actually want sex (and God bless them all),
will pick men to get involved with based at least in part on having fully articulating boy parts.
And for some of thee.... that is the most critical issue for them.

There's no value judgment to be made when both parties are adult about it.

"notanother" thread that misspelled "naivete"

No "y", it's French

He's SUCCESSFULLY wining and dining these older women? I've been hitting on the same ones at the volunteer Thrift store for a year and have NADA going on. The guy should teach classes for us "mature" men chasing "even more mature, welll off" ladies. I'm in!!

Very old post ^ (3 years) but this is kind of a weird thing to say...neither 20 years older nor 20 years younger is "their own age."

As for dating one's own age, the overwhelming majority of relationships fall I believe within 5 years of one another, splinter to as far as 10 and then above that is the more extreme minority, those do exist...it seems that the majority of people gravitate to their own basic age group, it isn't a matter of someone else wanting them to do it. It's a matter of THEM wanting to do it.

Oh, as for younger guys dating older women because they want to get gifts or something out of it...well, why not? If everybody gets that that's what's going on, and they're good with it, then they are. We get a lot of posts around here where older guys are SHOCKED to discover their much-younger women want to get gifts from them, or have dates paid for and so on, and that these younger girls would be making tracks if the money stopped. But duh. Like that doesn't happen? A young, hot person going after somebody older and grateful so they can get something out of it in exchange? Old as time. Although I'd never have done it personally (not my thing - and like I think many or most young girls, I had offers pretty consistently), if everybody "gets it" then it's all good. If it's trickery and somebody is getting fooled, then it's not. JMO.

Transparency is key here. There definitely are people who have zero issue with being used for their money as long as they can get the sex. If so then more power to both. That's their business. But only if everybody's aware. If not, then for shame.

How is this any different than a younger woman using and old man? Gold digging is equal opportunity to both genders.

What a weird old thread!

Guess the only point I wanna make, is why assume that a young person dating an older person (even much older) could only possibly be in it for the money? I think we overemphasize the idea that young=sexy. That isn't universally true. I like older men (bf is 20 years older) I find the silver in his temples and his calm spirit very appealing. Men my age and younger get on my nerves more often than not. And there are categories of porn featuring older men and older women, so obviously SOME segment of the population is just, frankly, into that.

I don't approve of anybody taking advantage of anybody, so as JerZ said, if someone is running some kind of a con game and using someone, then that's bad. But otherwise? Why judge someone else's pursuit of happiness, huh?

And speaking of which, that (happiness) is pretty much my own barometer of success in life, and users, from my observation, normally do not end up happy people. Sooner or later, the game is always exposed and they have to move on, and they don't tend to hold onto whatever benefits they gained in the long run. It is far more satisfying to engage with others in genuine ways and to form real connections. Users often seem to wind up with a severely impaired ability to do this.

If everyone is happy, than what's the problem?
