Definitely. Society is more willing to call everybody a hero these days. See the toddler stacking building blocks in the corner? That kid is a hero. See the old woman putting groceries into her car? That woman is a hero. Everybody is a hero, so we'd have to include Mediocre Man and Generic Woman.

The word hero has been watered down like a cheap cocktail at Chili's.

OMG! I am totally thinking of those "Lowered Expectations" (faux dating site) skits on Mad TV.

Okay, sorry. Yes, most people are average...hence the word, well, "average," LOL! BUT you don't need to present yourself that way. "Hi. I'm generic and really not much. How about a date?" There is SOMETHING interesting in practically anybody. Bring that thing out.

Everybody's got their something. You just need to bring it to the forefront, maybe.
You're a unique individual... just like everyone else!

Smile, be engaging, ask people questions... nothing generic or mediocre about that. That's how people meet others.

Seriously...generic and mediocre in what way? I don't even know what that means anymore. I meet someone really "normal" looking, and they've got a worm farm in the basement, or is a sadist with a house full of erotic art. The guy with the red mohawk though? He's not really that strange underneath. He works in a call center, plays video games, and wants a girlfriend.

The reference I'm thinking of is the movie Idiocracy. Remember in the beginning of it, the main character is absolutely completely average and normal and generic in every way. He might as well have "Great Value" printed on the side of his face he's so generic. But in a different setting, he's extraordinary.

And nowadays, there are so many people trying to stand out that normal might be the new weird. *shrug* With some of the people I've seen who found mates and even reproduced, I'm comfortable saying that there is probably somebody for everybody out there...

What does that really mean? If you are average... there area other average women too. If you are only looking for 1 person... there has to be at least 1 person out ther for you. Just make sure when you do find them you treat them as you would want to be treated.

I always wonder if indirectly if this average person in saying they are average and want to date a super model. If that is the case I would say all things are possible, but if an average looking women is not good enough for you why should someone better looking then you pay you any mind and why do you place so much value on the exterior?

When you find your compatible match, he or she usually doesn't think of you as mediocre. Well, at least until after you've been married several years
