I didn't realize that they didn't. When I'm out and about without my lady with me, walking in the park or whatever, women will come up and strike up conversations all the time. It's usually not a come on. Or maybe it is and I just don't tend to think it is. I suppose I could get plenty of dates that way if I were looking to though. But I'm quite happily attached. I haven't noticed any unwillingness on the part of women to approach and strike up conversations though.
The whole traditionalist thing of men being somehow required to break any ice hasn't been prerequisite or quite a while. Perhaps some women, and men as well, find that to be preferable. I have had women tell me they admire a guy who isn't overly shy. The whole air of confidence thing. So long as the guy is polite and not pushy I don't see any issue therein. As to women just flat being unwilling to approach, I don't see that.
That's because you're with a woman they either feel safe or they're women that want what they can't have. Some players wear a wedding ring on purpose even when they're not married, it's part of their strategy.
Not so smart if she doesn't end up getting the desired result. Then she'll end up blaming the guy when all she could have done was simply approach him herself.
It's 2017, and luckily, more and more women are starting to approach guys themselves, which is a good thing.
Yesterday, I heard a female coworker say she wished for this other male coworker to talk to her. I just thought to myself "Why not just talk to him yourself?" I think some women just don't want to get rejected and then blame the man if he doesn't ask her out.

I still think it's a cultural thing people don't know how to socialize anymore. Women used to know how to do things to give a guy an opening to talk to her. No guy is going to talk to you if you have earbuds in and you're staring at your phone. I think that's why some guys get hung up on store workers and waitresses and so on at least they are women you can actually interact with.
Have you ever seen the Indian movie "Makkhi"? The central romance is about the guy pursing the coy girl. It is taken to a comedic extreme; she would move tables in a restaurant so that she would be in view of him but then pretend she doesn't see him, send him a blank text to get him to come to her and then not admit she sent him anything, etc.
Setting up a chase can be fun as a girl, without directly approaching the guy. As long as he would also be willing to play.
Sounds like junior highschool level game playing to me...
I am unwilling to go out with any woman who approaches me first. To me, it just feels backwards and I just prefer to do it myself. I realize this is an unpopular opinion around here but oh well.
Note to women - this view is in the minority amongst men...please ignore it...

The insaneness level is running a tad high here...

No, it's running at it's normal level for here
"I do not like a woman to ask me out, I think women should go ahead and do the asking."
The opposing opinions from one are just usually more than a few minutes apart, that's all.
