I wonder if Jennifer Gardener though Ben Affleck was the one? I agree with the notion of falling in love, i dont agree that there is "one" person out there for u and with a 50% divorce rate, seems like people are split as well.
I don't believe as in "the one". I also don't believe love is enough..
When a relationship has all the hallmarks of chemistry, compatibility, communication, compromise, and the willingness or vision of growing old together as a couple in each other company, then it is possible to have a long term relationship.
You have to accept that people do change over time. No relationship is guaranteed for life. It takes effort (at times a lot of effort) to keep the relationship moving along.. despite personal / individual changes.
Once I though I knew but I realize that it was just a severe case of admiration ,and it ripped my heart out and I had to let her go, but my heart or what was left of it never did completely .
That was almost 50 years ago.

It's a matter of commitment, not birth. People seem to think that there is ONE person and your job is to wander the earth in search of that ONE person. Like they do in books.
Doesn't work that way. You begin. You compromise. You find maturity and tolerance and opportunity to grow.
Ha! You thought all those things weren't necessary, didn't you? You thought it was sort of going to fall in your lap and you would never be disappointed again.
Nope.
But after a long while, your partner WILL be The One. And so will you.
