Are you and your mate opposites? How so? How do you handle the differences?

Examples:
Is one happy go lucky and the other melancholy?
Is one a financial whiz and the other can't balance a checkbook?
Is one shy and the other outgoing?
Is one a spender and the other a saver?

ETC.......

We meet most of your list above with the exception of one being happy go lucky and the other being melancholy. We are both happy go lucky but have learned to temper it a bit with some responsibility Being a grown up sucks

She's extrovert, I am introvert.
She's a people's person, I am antisocial.
She's white, I am hispanic.
She likes milk on her cereal, I like lite maple syrup on my cereal.
These and a thousand other differences between us but the only thing that keeps us together is we love each other.

I remember a thread like this not too long ago. My wife and I are similar in some areas and very different in others.

Im friendly and open with people, she's kinda bit#chy/rude if she doesnt know you.
When I shop, I shop around, look for the best deal, make calls, visit different stores to compare prices, she just buys what she wants when she sees it.
Im rather conservative, she's waaaaay liberal.
I speak only english, she speaks about 5 languages.
I like wine and beer, she drinks occasionally and only martinis.

I can go on, but I think we are true soul mates.

Is one happy go lucky and the other melancholy? YES! It's exhausting trying to be the happy one all the time
Is one a financial whiz and the other can't balance a checkbook? We are both pretty good on spending
Is one shy and the other outgoing? YES! He wants to be home - I want to go out!
Is one a spender and the other a saver? No, we are on target with each other on money

He's an introvert - I'm an extrovert.

He's SENSITIVE! I'm very abrupt

He's very judgemental, and I can let things go

He loves being committed - I loved being independant

I'm type A, bold go-getter - and he could just be fine with staying in the same job forever

He's a neat freak, I'm a slob

I'm ENTJ, He's ISFP

He's very "black & white" and I'm colorful

In some ways my husband and I are identical to the point that it's almost scary. In other ways, we're diametric opposites. However, sometimes this works out to our favor. For instance, D is pretty much a glass-half-full guy. I, on the other hand, have a half-empty glass with a crack in it and half the time I can't even FIND my glass so there you have it. Well...on the occasions that D is down/sad (often pertaining to our son's autism), I tend to go into half-full overdrive and talk him out of it.

Ways we're the same:

Interest in "weird" stuff, such as ghost stories, etc.
Sense of humor.
Frugal/low-maintenance.
Family first.
So far liberal left we're practically falling off the map.
Love of nerdy shows/nerdy channels (Discovery, History, etc.).

Ways we're different:

He's positive, I'm more melancholy.
He's trendy, I'm nerdy.
He's a math genius who hates to write, I'm a writer who can't count higher than ten unless I take my socks off.
He lets things go, I hang onto things.

even though Im single I dont think there is anyone like me, thus all my mates have been complete opposite of me, and if we are alike in some way- there is always a "but" somewhere in the statement lol

We have enough in common (the big picture things - family/money/politics) that we can have fun with our differences.
