My older son, when he was 13 did something stupid with our tree. We told him to pull it outside to the curb so the trash men could take it away. So what does this numbskull do? He drags it out into the middle of our perfectly manicured lawn and lights it on fire! The damn thing went up in flames faster than you could blink. Scared the crap outta him - plus left a nice big black spot in our yard. But that was nothing compared to the wrath of an angry yard-proud mom!!!
Sorry, can't do anything stupid with my tree. It goes in and out of its box. As a matter of fact, it's gonna go into its box today, as soon as I get out of here!
Come to think of it, I did something stupid this year. I used "snow"... Probably will sweep leftover snowflakes till next Christmas.
I once used tinsel on an artificial tree. I think there are still pieces of it stuck in the branches. Easy on but not easy off.
Well my tree is still standing...I haven't taken a single thing off of it yet. I guess I'll get it done this week sometime. I hate to take it down - I love having a Christmas tree up.
This is the first yr. I've had a live tree in a long time. I thought the boys drug it to one of the brush piles, but I bet the knockers put it in the pond.

Sometimes trees are collected and put into ponds to create breeding and hatching areas for game fish.....if they havent been treated with chemicals....
I used to go to a community church Epiphany Service and everyone brought their trees for a community bon fire......it was nice but I think air pollution standards now would discourage that.
