I am not late for work as they pay me to be there at a certain time. But... I hate time schedules terribly. If it is my day off I will not obligate to be on any time schedule. I detest family gatherings and scheduled parties on my days off. I like to go for all day hiking, running adventures or take naps or do whatever I feel like doing and on no ones schedule but mine, so I just will not commit. If I happen to get done early with whatever I decided to do when I got up on my day off maybe I'd show up but I refuse to have any type of time schedule for 2 days out of my week which is not unreasonable with a 5 day week work schedule. I mean enough of this having to be somewhere at a certain time-- I'll never do it on the weekends. I think it is rude to schedule something in the middle of the day on the weekend and expect people who work all week to plan their whole day around that. I just won't do it- EVER. Not on days off or holidays.
My wife is from Spain, and is late for everything, and could care less as others have said about other women. I thought this was a Spanish trait, but maybe not... maybe just a trait of most women?

Nowhere near most . Most women I know are very prompt with 5 min late being maximum unless something held them up. And then there's usually a courtesy phone call involved.
imo - its how you are raised. my parents raised me to respect other people, and peoples time is very valuable, so even though i have 5 children, i am not late- 10- 15 minutes early for appointments, prompt for meetings and plans with friends (i was also taught early can be inconsiderate as well in this regard) and 15 minutes after for parties (this time has been different in different places i have lived).
Better watch out. I know someone who was constantly late and her friends started telling her that the events to which she was invited were a half hour earlier than everyone else. I don't think she ever caught on.
LMAO this just recently happened to me, my son's b-ball coach told me that they changed the practice time to 530p instead of 6...but practice was at 6. I called my hairdresser to make a 830 appt and she said ok i will c u at 9!!!
