I never even heard of celebrating one month of being a couple.

That's a good point, it might be something they do in high school now -- I recently did hear some girl talking about "anniversaries" counted in months and these were only dating anniversaries.

Techinically, an anniversary is a celebration of a year . So, there really is nothing to celebrate. When you really have an anniversary, you and your bf need to sit down and decide what you will do. My bf and I do not exchange gifts, but we do go out for dinner. We don't make a big deal out of Valentine's day either. We exchange gifts on Christmas and for each other's birthdays.

I've been married for 13 years, which isn't even that long in the grand scheme of things. All of my grandparents and great-grandparents are or were married for upwards of 60 years. If we celebrated monthly anniversaries, we'd all be bankrupt by now.

By the way, the "anni" in "anniversary" means "year." An anniversary is a yearly event.

After he realized how upset you were that he didn't get you one initially?

You must have told him you were expecting one and it upset you greatly that he didn't meet your expectations.

But he knew you were expecting something? Now, he is "guilted" into buying you something, anything to appease the "hurt".

No. I do have a suggestion; Give him some really good sex.
