Anyway...was Fred Rogers somehow "not a nurturer"?

Fred Rogers was a likely pedophile.

How old are you, a hundred and ninety?

Ignore him, he sounds as if he just wants attention.

I am a female who has a few 'tattoos'. Technically, I have a full sleeve in progress, a half sleeve in progress and an upper back tattoo that will be started up again in the next few years. I am also a 'rockabilly' woman who used to do pinup and cheesecake modeling at various car shows and festivals around California.

That said, the one big thing I've noticed regarding tattooed women is that they're much more open to conversation. They aren't afraid to say what's on their mind and don't regret much. Now, I'm not referring to the 'I have a tramp stamp, or I have a butterfly on my boob' crowd because those women generally haven't taken care of their tattoos, or put any real thought into them.

The women who take care of their tattoos (this means lotion constantly, staying out of the sun to preserve their color/sharpness) should not be confused with the women who let them fade, pick a bad/untalented artist who can't draw a straight line to save his/her life or pick images that hundreds of people already have.

I have been called all kinds of names to my face because of my tattoos, I have been touched, poked and prodded by strangers who wanted to see if they were 'real' and I have overheard parents tell their children that they should stay away from me because I'm a 'bad person'.

I am college educated, have a great job in the aviation field and live a normal life with my two dogs and my very un-tattooed hubby. I just so happen to like a type of art that many people don't agree with. Personally, I don't care how you judge me based solely on my tattoos. I know my fiancee loves me, my parents love me (who are tattooed bikers )and I get along just fine without you in my life

Haha.
I recall when my son was a baby, back in '91 or '92, me and my husband and son were at the grocery store, all of us dressed in black and with crazy hair colors etc, and I overheard this little kid say, "Mommy, is that the Addams Family?" (this was when the movie, with Christina Ricci playing Wednesday Addams, was still popular).
And the kid's mom was like, "Get away from those people. Don't go near them."

I used to get such a kick out of things like that when I was young. Freaking out the conservatives.
Now I could care less. It's not worth the effort it takes. I don't care enough about their opinion- even their bad opinion- to put any effort into cultivating it.
That's the cool thing about tattoos, though. They're with you always. They don't take any effort to maintain (at least not in my world). They're just always there, reminding you who you were, are, and always will be.

I love it! I've always been a bit 'weird' and 'off' and I'm kind of a novelty in my extended family. My sister is starting to get caught up to me in the tattoo department, but she has me beat with her 3/4" stretched lobes... I'm at a small 1/2"

That's how I've always looked at my tattoos though... they are pieces of art that I will have around forever and I can look at them and remember exactly what was going on in the time I got that part done, good or bad.

Keeps me balanced

Jane72 and JetJockey, You're my kind of people with the right attitude. I don't mind the "stupid" questions----Are they real?, What do they mean?, etc. I just hate the people who catagorize me without getting to know me.

I heard of a friend of a friend getting a lower-back tattoo just the other day and I was a bit suprised to hear it as I honestly thought they were played out and somewhat tacky since they are referred to as "tramp stamps" now.

But I may be just getting old. So what do they men think of 'tatted' women? Sexy? Not? Are you sick of them yet?
It all depends on how they are done...they can look like crap or beautiful.
Prior gf had a bunch of tats....and they were well done and fit her personality and looked good on her.

I have no tats....but I've thought about getting one of a pheonix...not big...just sort of symbolizing life, death and life again.

Ah mike, don't worry about them. Those who would do that are doing you a favour by not wasting your time with their petty preconceived ideas anyway. You're much better off letting them live in their bubble with their ill founded assumptions.

One of the added bonuses of getting tattoos is it weeds out those who judge character and intelligence on appearance. Not something I'd ever considered before I got mine (because I got them for ME, not for anybody else), although Dad did warn me that there were folks who would look down on me for them. I thought he was nuts. NOW I find I'm not wasting time getting to know people who can't look past the exterior because my tattoos are like a sign for them. Suits me! When I think of all the ludicrous conversations they've saved me from I gotta say it was the best money I ever spent!

Hey Moonie, How are you? Haven't talked to you in awhile. It's only been a few "ignorant" people but enough to be annoying.
